Supplies needed
First Class:
Fabric for quilt top only
Choose a main focus fabric and 3 colors that contrast with each other. A light, medium and dark that will coordinate with the focus fabric.
Buy the best quality fabric you can afford, it really does make a difference.
First Class:
Fabric for quilt top only
- Scissors (fabric and thread clipping)
- Rotary cutter (45mm suggested)
- Rotary cutting mat (no smaller than 11"x17"
- 6" x 12" rotary cutting ruler
- 6" x 6" square up ruler
- Spray starch (Faultless heavy starch) Walmart under $1.00
- Sewing machine in good working order (manual)
- Single stitch plate
- Bobbins
- Sewing machine needles (sharp 70)
- Thread to match project (100% cotton)
- 1/4 inch foot - #53 Bernina foot with guide and walking foot
- All items you brought to the first class

- Main focus fabric: 1 1/4 yards
- Medium and dark coordinating fabrics: 2/3 yards each
- Light fabric: 2 1/3 yards, this fabric also used as the border and binding. If you don't want a border only purchase 1 3/4 yards
- Backing fabric: 3 1/2 yards
- Batting: 42" x 55" (without border) or 48" x 59" (with border)
