The Water Sling

Supplies:

I used 2-3 different cotton fabrics as shown in the photo. Two for the
outside and 1 for the lining and the zippered pocket lining. I recommend
lightweight cotton canvas, like Sevenberry for the outside to give it
structure and a regular quilting cotton for the linings. You can use all
quilting cotton, denim, or even waterproof canvas. If you are going to
have bottles that sweat, I recommend a waterproof fabric liner.

1-Fat quarter of cotton canvas fabric for the main exterior of the bag.
1-Fat quarter of fabric for center top (accent fabric) and slip pocket .
1-Fat quarter of fabric for the inside lining and zippered pocket.

NOTE: if you want the lining and the front accent fabric the same get 3/8·
yard or 1/2 Yard if it is directional. It would be a bag with two fabrics.

SEW Hut has ordered the zippers, webbing, hardware and have the kits available for you to purchase.

54"x3/4'' of cotton and polyester webbing for shoulder strap.
I prefer the webbing for the shoulder strap. It's faster to make and
stronger than fabric.
¼- Yard of fabric, if you want to make a shoulder strap out of fabric.
¼- Yard of Pellon fusible fleece 987F to give your bag structure.
Use Pellon SF101 instead of 987F if you are using waterproof canvas.
1-8" x 1" wide nylon zipper or larger. You will trim it down to size.
¾" size Hardware: 2- swivel hooks, 2- D-rings & 1- slider.
1-3/8" swivel hook for the key ring holder and 1- 3/8''x 3'' twill.
A zipper foot would be great for sewing close to the zippers.
I sewed a bag with my Juki TL-201 O Q standard foot and that worked fine
It just shows a little more of the zipper without using a zipper foot.
Matching thread for top stitching. I prefer Aurifil 50 wt. to match fabric.
Basic sewing supplies, clips, and matching thread to your fabric.
I use a 6''x12'', 6''x24" & a 16½" sq. OLFA ruler for cutting out my bags.
